Introduction

This is our biggest update yet!

Earlier we announced that Towny has been replaced by Kingdoms as the core game mode.
The idea is the same: Work a job, Gather funds, create a Kingdom and leave your mark on the world!


Kingdoms is far more PvP oriented than Towny. You can invade other Kingdoms at the cost of a new currency: Resource Points (RP)! You gain RP by donating items to the Kingdom.
Currently, 3 of any item grants your Kingdom 1 RP. Certain items, such as iron and other mining materials, are worth more! We'll be adding more items in the future to fit other jobs, such as the Farmer, Hunter, etc.

You can play as a Pacifist Kingdom, which cost extra to maintain.
Pacifist Kingdoms are mostly safe from invasions, except during mass wars. Plan accordingly using Kingdoms Shields to hold off longer against enemy invasions!


HeavenlyAddons is a rework of our custom utility plugin. It will no only provide useful tools for running the server but will grow to improve the server by offering both utility and also custom features!

You may already be familiar with our "Elevator" and "Mob Capture Device" features, both of which are planned to undergo overhauls.
HeavenlyAddons will be powering upcoming features such as Friend Referral, Global Trading Market, Live Auctions and so much more!
We'll be releasing polls on our forums (and notify you here on Discord!) when we're ready. The highest voted features will be added first!

New Server Additions

There are three major additions to the server. They are: Aurelium Skills, ItemsAdder and MyPet.

AureliumSkills will be offering a new long-term goal for players to become more powerful. By levelling up your skills (/skills), you'll be increasing your stats (/stats), such as health, damage dealt and damaged taken.

ItemsAdder gives us the ability to add brand new in-game blocks, functions, items, textures and more! There is a lot for us administrators to learn in order to properly take advantaged of IA. Therefore, we will be rolling out new IA features at a very slow pace!
However, this will allow us to add new content that few other servers have, if any at all!

Finally, we've added tameable Pets, made possible by MyPet!
Tameable Pets are different from cosmetic pets. They're mobs that can be caught, trained and levelled up by killing mobs! The more damage a Pet has contributed to a kill, the more XP they receive. The XP received can be 0-100% depending on the damage they dealt. Dying results in a loss of XP (50 + 10% of their total XP)! So be careful!
As with ItemsAdder, new MyPet content will be slow to be released.




Beta Features

We are currently running an experiment on the server: dynamic view distance!
If the server is running fine and there is no lag, the view distance is instead by one chunk. If the server starts performing worse, the view distance will decrease by 1 (minimum 6).
Because of it's dynamic, those of you who render Fog may see it further away than it would normally be. This is known and unlikely to be fixed due to the server-client communication.

During the Heavenly Kingdoms Beta, we'll primarily focus on balancing existing features and resolving bugs or issues that are discovered.

With that said, we plan to release three new additions during Beta as part of the new HeavenlyAddons plugin!
They are: HeavenlyReferral, HeavenlyMarket and HeavenlyAuctions.

As mentioned earlier, we have a ton of features planned. While we won't include any details, here's a list of features that are currently planned.
This list is in no particular order. There is no estimated release date.


HeavenlyCeleste. Watch shooting stars and claim the loot from falling stars!
Rework of a currently used plugin.

HeavenlyCasino. After a long day mining along in the caves, you earned yourself some fun! Heavenly Casino: go big or go home!

HeavenlyElevators. Moving blocks and teleportation pads!
Rework of a currently running plugin.

HeavenlyStocks. Don't listen to CloudBank! Invest your next Hunter paycheck on the Heavenly Stock Market!

HeavenlyBrewing. Distill drinks and master the art of brewing!

HeavenlyFishing. Overhauls Minecraft's fishing with server competitions, fish shops, and new fish!

HeavenlyHorses. A minor rework of Minecraft's horse system which changes breeding and adds QoL changes!

HeavenlyDuels. Fight your way to the top and become reSkybounds' best duelist!

HeavenlyDisenchanting. Did you get Fortune III but not on the item you wanted? Disenchant it!

HeavenlyTrading. #BringBackVillagers

HeavenlyDeities. Are you a believer? The time has come to put your faith to the test!

HeavenlyBees. The latest buzz in beekeeping!


Remember:
- We'll first and foremost prioritize balancing and maintaining existing features. New features come second.
- You cannot yet vote on new features.
- Not all features are the same size in terms of content. For example: HeavenlyDuels will almost certainly take much longer to develop than HeavenlyMarket.



Rank Changes

Donor ranks have undergone some changes between Alpha to Beta. There's also a new rank!
Lord (new)
A $100 rank. Inherits all the previous rank perks!
New perks: Fancy new prefix, inventory sorting, chat and nickname color codes, new custom item recipes and more!

Alpha Donors
Alpha ranks now inherit their normal counterparts.
In other words: Alpha Heroes inherit permissions from Hero and Alpha Knight. Alpha Knights inherit from Knight and Alpha Adventurers. And so on.

Alpha ranks are also affected by changes in their permissions.

Heavenly Kingdoms - Patch #1 (Mega Patch)

Rather than posting a separate Patch, it's included in this update post for ease of access.

Important info:

- Aside from a ton of balance changes, a lot of combat enchantments have been made to work with Hoes to make them a viable weapon. We will continue doing these changes during Beta.

- Vanilla crits (attack with fully charged hits while falling) have been disabled.
You now deal bonus damage based on the custom enchantment: Critical.
Applies to all weapons.

Plugin has been removed from the server.
The Grappling Hook felt clunky and unintuiative to use. It may be readded in the future as a custom feature, if there's a demand.

Known Issues

- Dynamic View Distance
Due to how the Minecraft Client and Server interact with each other, fog distance may appear much further away than it would normally do. This is likely the best solution at the present.

- Custom Enchantment: Vein Miner
Unique enchantment.
Blocks that drop XP when broken (e.g. Nether Quartz Ore) only drop for the initial block broken.
If using "Custom Enchantment: Experience", only the initial block broken yields the bonus experience.
Blocks that should be affected by Fortune (e.g. Diamond Ore) may not have the Fortune experience applied to it.

- Custom Enchantment: Void Charge
Fabled enchantment.
Enchantment may not activate. May need to be completely changed or removed.
Players who have Void Charge may be refunded a random Fabled Enchantment Book if contacting an admin.

- ItemsAdder: Repairing Items
Wooden and Stone Swords currently can only be repaired in an anvil using Oak Planks and Cobblestone respectively.
You can still craft them using the vanilla blocks. You can also view the recipes in /ia, under "Swords".
